Laura Chinchilla Wins CR Preidency

0
Laura Chinchilla becomes Costa Rica's first female president. InTheNews.co.uk wins as the first place I saw the information.
President-elect Chinchilla, of the ruling National Liberation party, had campaigned for election on a platform of maintaining incumbent president Oscar Arias's free-market policies.
While many will not be excited by another conservative president (including most of my Costa Rican friends), the one time I had a chance to meet with her (when she was a diputado) I was impressed with her non-politician presence. The meeting was about using Open Source Software. She listened, understood and authored legislation to help promote its use.

to me

she looks better then Sarah Palin.....and what is more important..... she will not be wasting my tax money

I agree except that I don't think Palin

has a chance in h3ll, to reach the office of the Presidency. Certainly not with her new affiliation with the bickering Tea Party, and/or her "crib notes" scrawled on her hand to remind her of words used in discussing "foreign policy." I have a feeling she will end up simply a good political joke one day for our kids to tell. "Did you hear the one about when Palin saw Russia?"

Dan Quayle

We so quickly forget important Americans such as Dan Quayle. Even Obama could probably use this bit of useful information.

Looking Good. . .

Looks like she has a pretty good track record. Laura's Plan de Gobierno is looking good too! She's against abortion though. Nobody knows how she is going to finance all this. The PdG doesn't mention taxes, so we have to wait for her first budget I guess. I like her website. Let's see if she remains immune to corruption the next 4 years.
