People who fight about nothing

I don't get a chance to write much these days but I do read. For the life of me I can't see why some fairly smart people are indulging in such a petty little catfight over nothing. Whether Mujermagnetica's stories are true or not is moot because like much of what is said on here we other NL members have no way to verify any of that. So what is the point of Nicareal and Juano leading the charge against her exactly? All three of you write well which is usually a good indicator of intelligence but the name-calling and character assassinations baffle me-maybe someone would be good enough to enlighten me on why y'all are going around and around like this. Nicareal as a site moderator it isn't a good thing that you wanna be an arbiter, and participant, both at the same time. A site moderator should be above the fray and not actively adding to the mess by indulging his own passions and heated words . I can't figure what got you guys all going at it to start with.

Black Eagle. People on here need to check themselves. I once posted a picture of my uncles house by the beach which he has worked long and hard to earn and some people said very nice things about it but a lot of people said some horrible things about my uncle like how he was exploiting the country and flaunting his riches like they new the man. If they only new he is an educator and not rich by any means they would have never said such things but it's hard to see thru your bellybutton when your head is shoved to far up your ass.

Have I not lately been keeping out of "the fray" as you put it?

I realized the very point you are making some time ago and have been toning down my comments.

I don't "lead the charge" against anything. I'm getting too old, too slow and too lazy for that.

I can't speak for mujermagnetica or Juanno. I personally have nothing personal against any of them. I have offered mujermagnetica some advice and made an offer to help. I can do no more.

Are we fighting? LOL well maybe we have had a few words.... However, we are all human (at least I hope so), and we are therefore subject to daily pressures and challenges. For some of us, our writing is an outlet to relieve those pressures. At times the pent up feelings and frustrations cast upon us by our daily routines rise to the surface and take over for a few minutes.

This is not an excuse. Rather a statement of fact as far I am concerned. I would imagine, Juanno and mujermagnetica have their own explanation.

I know Juanno rather well and we have been friends, at least I consider him a friend, for a number of years. His challenges are as unique as they come, as are his circumstances. I know he has an inquisitive mind and a huge heart. He is always the first to help out if he feels the person needing help is willing to work on solving their own problems.

Mujermagnetica and I really don't know each other. We had a "go" at each other on more than one occasion. Does this mean we don't like each other? I really don't know!

For me mujermagnetica is a poster here. Like most people participating on this site, I have never met her to my knowledge. Is she who she says she is? I don't know or care. Is her story true? I can't determine if it is or not.

If the story is true it represents a sad case of injustice. If it is false, who cares? She is certainly stirring up interest in her book. This brings me to the next question: Is there a book?

Well if there is no book, she should write one. She certainly has the talent. If there is a book: GREAT marketing job!

So BE you see, we are all human just plugging along :-).

Your comments are appropriate and well placed.

He has been very kind in personal emails to me offering any assistance he can after we "kissed and made up." And he doesn't know me either, so this is especially kind of him.

I can't speak for Juanno. He seems to have taken issue with the idea that a person can be living out of their car to save their dog after moving over a border and losing their life's possessions, and then recovered their life 3 years later. And some issue with me sending a container of items to Nicaragua. Not sure why he feels sending a 20-foot container is a huge expense at $3000, but he can explain that. For most people, this is only a drop in the bucket when they are considering moving to a new country with all the expenses of obtaining translations, documents and having them apostilled. Maybe I'm a fool, but the cost to apostille our documents alone ran $1500, so I don't think the moving expense was amazing. I was hoping I got a good deal, but others can tell me if they found cheaper prices for moving from LAX to MGA and if the apostille service completely ripped me off to make me feel "like a fool."

And thank you Nicareal for reassuring me that my marketing has been good for the book. You should see my REAL marketing plan!!! LOL

When one brings up uncomfortable human behaviors happening in the world, (especially if the behaviors are far beyond social norms we grow up admiring) it is a common for others to find it unbelievable and distasteful. I posted my experiences as an oddity that happens, knowing that it could help another who had their own peculiar experiences with immigrating to Nicaragua. I realized it wasn't the experience of the average immigrant (and probably far beyond common folks imagination), but it is something that a few may have fears about if they choose to immigrate to Nicargua. I want them to know what happens to relieve any stress they may endure. Whether others believe my story is irrelevant, because there are asylum applicants who will come to Nicaragua and they may find some relevance in what I've learned and it may ease a bit of their stress if they encounter the same. And since I'm hoping to publish a book about this experience, I have a feeling verification will vindicate me in the end, and that probably ruffled a few feathers, fearing I might write about them. So let me say very clearly here.

I HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER WRITING ANOTHER MEMOIR IN MY LIFE, AND NEVER WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER REASON TO. I WILL BE PUBLISHING NOVELS IN THE FUTURE. AND THEY WILL NOT INCLUDE ANY PERSONALITIES FROM THIS SITE.

In Nicareal's defense, he is trying to keep the site peaceful and doing the right thing in doing so.
