EL Conquiestador
Thank you all for your suggestions. I found El Conquiestador for $40 a night for 2 adults and 1 child. Includes free internet, free full breakfast, and the place is real clean after looking at about 10 diffrent Hotels in Managua.
El Conquiestado
How quiet is it, and where is it located?
los felipes
i stayed there sseveral yrs. ago..while i was looking for a house to rent....will give u monthly rates if u need it house hunting..nice grounds..small dark rooms..lots of good cheap eating places near it..i live 2 blocks from it
I Like The Crowne Plaza
Not $40, but you can get it on Priceline for $80 /night. The last time I stayed there they upgraded me to a suite. Very safe part of town, they pick you up at the airport and have a fleet of taxis (and drivers) outside. Lots of amenities, very helpful people. If you lean to the left, Hugo Chavez stays there when he come to Nicaragua. You can walk to the Sandino momument and there is a great Nica restaurant up the hill a block. Modern shopping center across the street from the entrance.
i live near tica bus
there are a lot of hotels in this area in any price range u want..they do rob a lot of gringos over here..but most of them wont take cabs and carry a day pack..so they are asking for it,,i walk over to plaza inter a lot and never had a problem
Managua Backpackers Inn

In Managua dial 2267-0006 or Cell: 8414-4114
Don't be put off by the name. It's a nice secure place, a Hosel but has dorms, single rooms and family rooms ($30 or so) see pics on line. Swimming pool, hot showers, air con. It's clean and it's a steal.
They have a shuttle and it will be well worth getting them to pick you up from the airport, even if you have to pay. Mention Big Wave Dave from SJdS sent you, (and that's not me by the way, I just know they are buds)
Its a ways from the airport, 30 minutes but you will then be living real close (a walk maybe) to things like metro centre, immigration etc.
